China: A skier’s journey

China: A skier’s journey

In a land with some of the world’s most incredible slopes, skiing in China is facing a dichotomy.

Whilst its exploding middle class demands urban dry ski slopes and fancy mountain resorts, its ancient tribes fear that the original sport (dating thousands of years back) is at risk of dying out.

Follow Chad Sayers and Forrest Coots in this breathtaking short film as they skirt danger on the North Korea border, meet ancient tribes in the Altai mountains and explore the past, present and future of China’s ski scene.

Don’t be fooled by the awesome ski sequences though, this is far more than just a ski film but an incredible insight into the little known origins of skiing and the threats to its very existence.
